How Accurate Are Psychics? An Honest Answer

How accurate are psychics? Honestly? Not 100 percent, and anyone who tells you they are is either lying to you or lying to themselves. I'll speak for myself: I'm right about 70 percent of the time, and I've made peace with that number because it's the truth. What I see is real, but it arrives through my own filter, and a filter is never perfectly clean. So the honest answer to this question isn't a percentage at all. It's this: accuracy matters, but how a psychic handles the other 30 percent matters just as much. Let me explain what I mean.

Why no psychic is 100 percent right

Everything I receive comes through me. It passes through my mind, my life, my associations, my language. I might see a clear image and then interpret it slightly wrong because my brain reaches for the nearest familiar meaning. I've watched myself see something accurately and explain it inaccurately in the same breath. That gap is where the errors live. It isn't that the information was false. It's that I translated it imperfectly.

We are all doing the best with what we're seeing, and a lot of it comes through our own filter. Any medium who won't admit that is someone I'd be cautious with. The certainty people crave, the flawless oracle, doesn't exist, and chasing that image is how both readers and clients get hurt.

What "70 percent" actually means

I use that number because it keeps me honest, not because I've run a spreadsheet. It's a way of saying: trust what resonates, question what doesn't, and never hand your whole life to a stranger's impression. A good reading gives you information to weigh, not commandments to obey. If something a psychic says lands as true in your body, wonderful, use it. If it doesn't, you're allowed to set it down. You have complete agency over your own life.

Accuracy is only half the job

Here's the part people don't talk about enough. Being right is not the same as being responsible. I could receive something completely accurate and still cause harm by how I deliver it, when I deliver it, and whether the person in front of me can hold it. Telling someone a hard truth with no care is not skill, it's damage with a psychic label on it.

So when I train people, I care as much about delivery ethics as about raw perception. What do you say? What do you keep to yourself? How do you hand someone a difficult impression without frightening them or taking their agency away? A truly good psychic is measured not only by their hit rate but by whether people leave a session more resourced than they arrived. Accuracy without responsibility is not a gift. It's a liability.

How to tell if a psychic is any good

A few honest signals. A good one admits uncertainty and says "I don't know" without flinching. A good one hands you information rather than orders, and never traps you with fear or urgency. A good one doesn't need to be impressive, so they're not performing. And a good one protects your free will, which means they'll never tell you there's only one door and they alone hold the key. If a reader is all confidence and no humility, that's not a sign of power. It's a red flag.

What this means for you

If you're the one getting a reading, go in curious and grounded. Keep what rings true, release what doesn't, and don't outsource your decisions to anyone, gifted or not. And if you're someone who already has these abilities and you're trying to build them into something real and trustworthy, this is exactly the work I love most: helping developing psychics and mediums get accurate and get responsible at the same time.

That's what my mentorship is built for. It's seven weeks of live training, practice, and direct feedback from me, for people ready to take this seriously. If that's you, you can read about it and apply here.

With love,

Malaurie
